Anne Warburton - Artist Statement

Anne Warburton creates dynamic fibre art from repurposed materials and is fascinated about how creativity helps our own personal journeys. Her fibre art is inspired by the "wow" of nature's lines around us. She makes her art by sewing layers of fabrics together, then slashes, deconstructs and heat distresses revealing the layers below, along with a bit of herself in each piece. She then shapes, stitches and embellishes the art to highlight the beauty within. Anne is trained in the expressive arts therapies and learning facilitation, and spent her career in event management.

Anne is an active member of her local fibre arts community, as past co-chair of the Out of the Box Fibre Artists, art teacher, and founder of Fibre 15.
